New Procedures

Single Incision LaparoscopyDr. Jason C. Bradford, M.D. is changing the way you think of surgery. We are the first and only in Corpus Christi to perform single-incision Hysterectomies using the next generation SILS™ procedure.

Why minimally invasive surgery?

Newly developed surgical techniques have many advantages over traditional “open” surgery. Operative infection rates are reduced, recovery time is reduced and in many cases postoperative pain is reduced. Many traditional surgeons will state that they can perform open surgery faster than minimally invasive techniques. Ask yourself, who does this benefit, the surgeon with the busy schedule, or the patient with six weeks of recovery ahead of her?  A traditional abdominal “open” hysterectomy carries at least a six week recovery period. A vaginal hysterectomy reduces the recovery period by about two weeks. A total laparoscopic hysterectomy performed with the laparoscope only or the DaVinci robotic surgical system can reduce the recovery time by another one or two weeks.

Please do the research and do not hesitate to ask questions. Our clinic will strive to accommodate your individual needs for your unique situation.

Single Incision Laparoscopy - SILS™

From Multiple Incisions to One. Offering patients the newest advancement in surgery, the SILS™ procedure replaces the four incisions required by standard laparoscopic surgery with just one incision in the belly button. The benefits to patients include the potential elimination of visible scars and the pain associated with multiple points of entry.

One incision improves upon standard laparoscopic techniques, potentially eliminating the scars and wound pain associated with multiple points of entry. Potential benefits of a SILS™ procedure may include:

  • Faster Recovery Time
  • No Visible Scars
  • Less Post-Op Pain

The SILS™ procedure can be applied to numerous conditions, making it a highly viable option for many people in need of surgery.

Dr. Bradford is successfully using the daVinci robotic surgical system to transform several major surgical operations into outpatient procedures: tubal ligation reversal, hysterectomy, myomectomy, and sacrocolpopexy.

With the daVinci robotic surgical system, Dr. Bradford can perform the most complex non-cancer gyn surgery, sacrocolpopexy. A robotic sacrocolpopexy is used to repair pelvic organ prolapse (prolapsed vagina, uterus and bladder). This technique has the highest success rate without the dangers of using vaginal mesh for female prolapse surgery. Call the office today to schedule a consultation.

Tubal Ligation Reversal

Call our office for a consultation about your options to reverse your tubal ligation. We offer outpatient tubal reversals using the daVinci robotic surgical system. See another website for more information about tubal reversal:
